ABOUT THE SESSION
We will capture and review the photographs as we go. Inspecting the photos in this manner allows us to establish their suitability to the individual or campaign. This allows us to change the session's emphasis to account for anything else we believe you might benefit from along the way.
PURCHASING IMAGES
After session is completed we will sit down together and look at each photograph individually. We will help you choose the best images and make sure you have a variety to choose from. At the end, you will decide which images you want. They will be edited and sent to you.
CLOTHING
We want you to bring different options of clothes. It's important to feel comfortable in what you're wearing because it can affect how well your photograph turns out. We suggest bringing different styles, colors, and necklines. For people who work in offices, we like men to have different combinations of jackets, shirts, and ties, and women to have different combinations of blouses, dresses, and jackets. It's best to keep jewelry simple, like small earrings and simple necklaces. If you wear glasses, it's helpful to bring multiple pairs to see if they cause any glare. If you're not sure if something will work, it's better to bring it along just in case. It's great to layer your clothes, like wearing t-shirts or tank tops undersweaters or light jackets. If you feel like your wardrobe is missing something, you can go shopping and we can keep the tags on in case you want to return the items after the photoshoot.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
Women’s makeup:
Makeup for the session is optional but strongly suggested for all women. The cost of makeup during your session is listed above.
The makeup is tailored to the lighting we utilize, and we normally start very organically to give you a clean, uncomplicated look. We do touch-ups and will make tiny modifications to the makeup throughout the session. If you want to begin with a heavier makeup application, please let us know.
Women’s hair:
We ask that everyone come in with their hair done the way they want to portray themselves. We want your hair in your photos to be as close to how you look on a great hair day as possible, and we can't have you arriving at the studio looking like you just rolled out of bed. Of course, our makeup artist is there to ensure it's shoot-ready, and we'll talk about what you want to do with it and devise a strategy before the start of the shoot.
If you need a major overhaul hair-wise or you are naturally curly and want to go straight there may be an extra $50 charge for our makeup artist to blow it out for you. Make sure you discuss this with us prior to your session, so we are all on the same page.
Men:
We don’t recommend makeup on men, but our makeup artist can provide light grooming for skin and hair on the shoot if you like. Just inquire with us about pricing prior to your session. Our professional retouching usually covers any issues that may arise skin-wise, so there are no worries in that dept.
Facial Hair:
If you’d like to shoot with facial hair we’d be happy for you to come in with whatever level of growth you’d like and can shave or trim it down once we’ve gotten the scruff covered. Bring whatever grooming products you’ll need with you to get it done.
SCHEDULING AND PAYMENTS
We are available for shooting Monday through Saturday starting 9 am. We ask that you don’t schedule anything important right after your shoot in case we feel we need a little more time with you.
